Soft morning light streaming through tall windows onto wood floors and rolled mats in a quiet yoga studio

A small studio in West Asheville

Twelve mats. Morning light. Four teachers who know your name.

Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Beginner Foundations — six days a week. Walk in barefoot, leave a little quieter than you came.

How we teach

A studio you can walk into without rehearsing first.

No mirrors. No leaderboard. No headstand on day one. We hold space for slow practice and good cueing — the kind that makes Tuesday after work feel survivable.

  1. Beginners welcome

Half of our students started here in their forties or later. Every Vinyasa class includes prop options. Foundations runs Monday and Saturday for true first-timers.

  2. Small classes

Twelve mats, capped. You will be seen, adjusted only with consent, and never lost in a 40-person row. Reservation system holds your spot.

  3. Slow flow, real rest

Half our weekly schedule is Yin and Restorative. We believe down-regulation is the practice — not a recovery from it.

  4. Trauma-aware cueing

Our teachers train with the Trauma-Informed Yoga Alliance. Invitational language, opt-in adjustments, lights you can dim.

Your teachers

Four people. Four practices. One studio.

Every teacher trained at Quiet Garden or with our lineage. Each holds 200+ hours of certification and trauma-informed training.

New here?

Try us for two weeks.

Most new students take a Foundations class first, then a Slow Flow Vinyasa, then they figure out their rhythm. Two weeks is enough to find it.

What students say

In their own words.

  • “I came in for the cheap intro and stayed because it was the first place I tried yoga where nobody told me I was breathing wrong.”

    J. — member 2 years Vinyasa & Yin
  • “Anika's sound bath is on my calendar the first Friday of every month. I sleep different that night. My partner has noticed.”

    K. M. Sound Bath regular
  • “I'm 58 and I had never set foot in a yoga studio. Devon's Foundations series is the reason I have a practice now.”

    Patricia Foundations grad
  • “Twelve mats means the teacher actually sees me. Maren caught a knee thing two weeks in that I'd been ignoring for a year.”

    D. — member 8 months Vinyasa
  • “Walked in on a Tuesday after the worst week of work I'd had in a decade. Walked out of Yin & Restore feeling like the volume on my own life had been turned down.”

    Sam Yin regular
  • “Trauma-informed isn't marketing here. The opt-in adjustment cards on the door are a small thing that changed everything for me.”

Before your first class

The things nobody tells you.

If your question isn't here, text us. We answer.

I've never done yoga. Where do I start?

Take a Beginner Foundations class first — Mondays at 5:30 PM or Saturdays at 10:30 AM. It walks through every posture, prop, and term you'll hear in our other classes. After that, Slow Flow Vinyasa or Yin & Restore are the gentlest entry points.

What should I bring to my first class?

Just yourself. We have mats, blocks, blankets, and bolsters — all included with the intro pass and any drop-in. Wear something you can move and breathe in. No mirrors here, so don't overthink the outfit.

Bring water if you want it. Avoid heavy meals two hours before class.

How early should I arrive?

Ten minutes early for your first visit so we can show you where things are. After that, five minutes is plenty. Doors lock at the start of class out of respect for the practice — please don't be the late footstep through Savasana.

Where do I park?

Free street parking on Haywood Road and on Sulphur Springs. The small lot behind the building has six spots — first come, first served. Bus stop is half a block east.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel any reservation up to two hours before class with no penalty. Late cancels and no-shows on a membership count as a class. We're lenient on the first one — life happens.

Is there a scent or fragrance policy?

Yes. We ask students to come unscented — no perfume, cologne, or heavily scented lotions. Several of our regulars have migraines or chemical sensitivities. The studio uses unscented cleaning products.

Do you take walk-ins?

When mats are available, yes. But Vinyasa and Sound Bath fill seven days in advance — reserve online to be sure. Yin and Restorative usually have space day-of.

I'm pregnant / injured / new to a body change. Can I still come?

Most likely yes — but text or email us first so we can match you to a teacher and class. We do not currently teach a dedicated prenatal class. Several of our teachers are prenatal-certified for one-on-one sessions.
